BEST SUMMER EVER!

COVID-19 Update

I think many of you will agree that we need camp more than ever this year! We missed you in 2020, but we are excited to be back, better than ever in 2021!

We are planning to have the BEST SUMMER EVER but also the safest summer ever. Below, you can see some of the safety measures we will be implementing for our campers and staff.

Registration is now open at a reduced capacity to increase social distancing. You can plan ahead by looking at all of the 2021 dates and prices here on our website.

Message from our Program Director, Adrian Stelpstra. Do you have any questions or concerns? Don’t hesitate to contact Adrian.

Making Camp Safe for YOU!

Registration is now open at a reduced capacity in order to increase social distancing at camp. This will mean smaller cabin sizes. In addition, we are exploring options such as operating in cohorts to limit camper contact and/or dedicating specific buildings for specific programs.

Since we already have over 100 campers who carried over their registration from 2020, our capacity for 2021 campers is limited. Make sure to get your registration in ASAP so that you don’t miss out!

Social Distancing

Handwashing & Sanitation

We will be including additional handwashing and sanitation procedures into our campers’ daily schedule. Medical grade hand sanitizer and distribution centres have already been purchased and will be located throughout the camp property.

Screening procedures will be in place during the check-in process. This will include temperature checks, health and travel history.

COVID-19 Screening

Healthcare Staff

Each summer we have two full-time healthcare staff at camp. In addition, we have a fully stocked health center and a quarantine room to use if needed.

We have a local doctor available to answer any medical questions and provide same-day appointments if necessary. In case of emergencies, we are a short 15-minute drive to the nearest hospital.

We will be reviewing all of our summer cleaning and sanitation procedures to increase the frequency that high-contact areas are sanitized. We will be following or exceeding all of the recommendations outlined by our local health unit.

If you choose to cancel, our normal cancellation policies apply. Cancellations must be made by phoning the office. There is a $50 fee for cancellations made before May 15 and a 50% fee for cancellations made after May 15. The payment plan has a non-refundable deposit.

For anyone who carried their registration forward from 2020 to 2021, you can change weeks or cancel for free anytime before June 15th. After June 15th our normal cancellation policy applies. To make any changes please, email Adrian or calling the office at 519-623-4860.

How is Camp doing?

2020 was a tough year, but we remain excited about the future. Due to the generosity of our donors and the government wage subsidy, we will end this year in a positive position. Our dedicated year-round staff has been willing to take reduced hours during this COVID season. Countryside Camp has no long-term debt and our financial outlook remains good.

We had over 100 campers carry their registration forward to 2021, and over $11,000 of registration fees were donated after summer camp in 2020 was cancelled.

We are very thankful to God and our supporters during this difficult time. We have never been more excited to make 2021 the BEST SUMMER EVER!

What if I carried my 2020 registration forward to 2021?

If you carried your registration forward from 2020 to 2021 then you are fully registered and ready to go for this summer, there is nothing else you need to do. You should have received a confirmation email with a household account statement back in May. If you would like to see your current registration status, you can log into your online account here or email Adrian and he can help you with whatever you need.

If you need to change weeks or cancel, you may do so for free (before June 15th) by emailing Adrian or calling the office at 519-623-4860.
