Adrian Stelpstra
Director of Operations
Hi Everyone, This will be my 19th summer at Camp Shalom. I have had the privilege of being the Program Director for the last 15 years. I love teaching and helping to guide young people into being who God made them to be. I have been married to my wonderful wife for 15 years and together we have been foster and adoptive parents for many years. I like fishing, disc golf, running, mountain biking, and hamburgers. I am looking forward to another great summer!

Ryan Flokstra
Summer Camp Director, Maintenance Director
Hi Everyone! I’ve been around Camp Shalom at least a summer or two, maybe more? When I’m not doing my day-job, I like to play disc golf, mow grass, and fish, which lucky for me, is most of what my day-job consists of. We’ve got a great staff lined up, some awesome programing coming your way, and we’re counting down the days for your arrival!

Crystal Speelman
Food Service Director
Hey everyone! This will be my 11th summer involved with camp and 3rd summer running the show – as we all know camp doesn’t happen without the food! I have always loved baking and enjoyed cooking, and am so glad I get to teach the summer staff and share my passion with them. When I’m not in the kitchen, you can find me swimming, reading, hiking, or travelling to new places. I’m looking forward to this summer and all that God will bring with it!

Sarah Romero
Office Administrator
I’ve been at Camp throughout all walks of life. I came as a camper, have had the pleasure to work on the summer staff team as a counsellor, and in leadership. This summer I’m going to be working in the camp office! I enjoy working with people and being part of a supportive team. In my spare time I like doing crafts, reading, and spending time in nature. If you have questions, need a hand, or just want to say hi, feel free to stop by!
Hugo Lima
Program Coordinator (Adventure Camp and Special Support)
Hi! My name is Hugo, and I’m someone who loves staying active and connecting with others. I enjoy swimming, playing disc golf, and spending quality time with my friends whenever I get the chance. I’m gonna be the Adventure camp coordinator and am super excited for everything this summer has in store! Whether it’s leading fun activities or helping create unforgettable memories, I’m all in. Looking forward to a great season ahead!

Layla Magreehan
Program Coordinator (Spec)
Hey Everyone! My name is Layla and I am so excited to be back for my fourth summer at camp as the Spec Coordinator! I’m currently in college for Advertising and Marketing and when I graduate, I plan on going into graphic design. I love to travel, drink iced coffee, play piano and guitar, talk about my love for Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, and refinish furniture. I am so excited to see what God has in store for this summer and I can’t wait to meet you all!

Asha Wilts
Program Coordinator (Munchkins Day Camp)
Camp Shalom has been a huge part of my life. I’ve been coming here since 2010, first as a camper and now on staff since 2022. This camp has been such a blessing to me over the years. I’ve seen God move powerfully at Camp Shalom, changing lives in incredible ways, including my own, summer after summer.
For the past three years, I’ve been living in Montreal for CEGEP, and I’ll be starting at McGill University in the fall. During my time there, I’ve had the privilege of serving in various roles: leading my school’s Christian club, being a peer supporter, teaching Sunday school, and helping lead the College & Careers group at my church.
When I’m not studying or at camp, you can usually find me rock climbing, biking, running, baking, reading, or just enjoying the outdoors.
I can’t wait for another amazing summer at Camp Shalom. So excited to see what God has in store. See you soon! 🙂

Trent Magreehan
Program Coordinator (Adventure Day Camp)
My name as you have probably seen above is none other than Trent but my friends who really know who I am on the inside call me Trent; you can call me either 🙂 I am a man of many skills: nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills and computer hacking skills (that may be a direct quote from Napoleon Dynamite). I absolutely can not wait for this summer to begin as this year I have the privilege of being the Adventure Day Camp Coordinator! In the fall I will be going down to the great land of Texas for a gap year program (and to get a sweet cowboy hat). When that’s done, I want to be a lawyer. Some of my many hobbies are playing the drums, playing volleyball and lifting heavy things. This will be my fourth year on staff and the best year at Camp Shalom in all of camp history. Can’t wait to see you all when the summer finally rolls around!
Alana Godwaldt
Munchkins Coordinator

Johannah Stuart
Disc Coordinator
Hey everyone! I’m Johannah, and I’m absolutely thrilled to be the female DISC coordinator this year! This is my first summer working at Camp Shalom, but I’ve been involved with different camps my whole life and it’s always such a blast meeting new people, learning new things, and seeing how the Lord works even through the inevitable chaos that comes from letting a few dozen young adults organize and lead programs for two months. It’s impossible to know how a day is going to go, but this creates the perfect opportunity to encourage us all to trust in God’s faithfulness and grace, and what a blessing it is to see Him move!
When I’m not planning for the DISC program (which is going to be epic, by the way), you can find me at work taking care of some of the cutest and most tenacious 1-3 year olds in the world, trying a new craft, making a mess in the kitchen, or yapping with my sisters. I also love making lists, trying new teas, and being unnecessarily enthusiastic about the most mundane of activities. Throughout the school year I also have the privilege of helping teach a high school debate class, and it’s always the highlight of my day seeing the wild arguments the students come up with!
I can’t wait the coming months of growth, fun, and new experiences, and I’m so excited to meet you all!! I hope you’re ready for the best summer yet!

Blake Lee
Disc Coordinator
Hello! My name is Blake Lee, and I have the pleasure to be the male DISC coordinator for our summer program of 2025. I am finishing up a Political Science and History HBA at the University of Toronto. In my University, I lead personal discipleship and a small group within Power 2 Change, and a number of other faithful Christian organizations on campus. I am a Presbyterian and subscribe to a wholistic Evangelical understanding of Scripture’s authority. God has used Camp Shalom to sharpen my faith, and I pray that others may partake of that same experience. I have seen in my own University how young men and women are shaped in their early teens to become the young adults which will influence our society, institutions, and ultimately future generations, this is what makes me so passionate to steward a new generation of leaders, followers, and most importantly, disciples. I love tennis, hiking, hunting, fishing, snake-catching, snorkelling, and photographing old architecture. My continual encouragement to the DISCers can be found in 1 Peter 5:5-11, trials will last a season but our reward lies beyond the temporal realm. I am looking forward to this summer, it will be the best one yet!

Jennifer Abraham
Healthcare Coordinator
Hi! My name is Jennifer, and I am a nursing student at McMaster University. In my free time, I love to hike, bike, and explore trails. Nature is one of God’s great gifts to us. From God creating the Garden of Eden, Moses parting the Red Sea, and Jesus calming the storm, we can see how God works through nature. I look forward to meditating on God’s word, being part of Christian ministry, and promoting health and well-being at Camp Shalom. Wishing you all a safe and fun summer, God bless!

Ryan DeGroot
Healthcare Coordinator
My name is Ryan DeGroot, I’m a fourth year biomedical engineering student at Mac, and I’m super excited to be working at camp again. This is my third year on staff and second year on the healthcare team. Hey guys!!! I am so excited to be coming back to camp for another amazing year of growing God’s kingdom and growing in fellowship with so many new people. This will be my third year on staff here at camp, and will be my second year as a Worship Counsellor. Camp Shalom has been a big part of my childhood as I have been a camper multiple times. As a third time counsellor, my hope it to give kids the same experience I had growing up, which was pure fun and enjoyment but also a time of healthy growth in my walk with Jesus Christ. Some of my hobbies are playing guitar and singing (some people call me a walking radio), hanging out with friends, and doing physical activities out doors.
I enjoy pretty much anything if I’m doing it with people 😀 I’m really excited to meet you all and looking forward to working as a team to enhance God’s kingdom by bringing kids and guests to Christ. Remember to press on (Philippians 3:12b) and to constantly be in the word of God and seek him in prayer. I’ll see you all at camp!!!
