We missed you in 2020 but we are excited to be back, better than ever in 2021! Since the safety of our campers and guests is of the utmost importance, we are preparing to run summer camp at a reduced capacity to maintain social distancing.
We are planning to open registration is on March 1st. We will increase capacity as the summer gets closer if permitted by our local health unit.
“Camp Shalom” is a Christian youth summer camp offering both kids camps and special needs camps. For over 50 years Camp Shalom has been a meeting place for friends and family to have fun and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. As the summer camp ministry of Countryside Camp and Conference Centre, Camp Shalom strives to provide campers and special support guests with fun and educational programming in a safe, accepting and, above all, Christ-centered environment.
Our summer camp staff members are hired based on their spiritual testimony, demonstrated life experience and current qualifications. They participate in a two-week intensive staff training period. Our summer camp staff strive to exemplify quality in character, morality in decision-making, and Biblical understanding in their teaching.
Summer camp has always been a place that makes lasting impacts on the people who visit. Memories are made that last a lifetime, friends are made who you meet here every year, new skills are learned that change the way you live, and great counselors are met who lead by example. At Camp Shalom we value every single person who comes through our gates, we pray for our campers by name and trust that God is present here and is at work in each person’s life.
New Payment Plan Available
Camp Shalom continues to be dedicated to keeping the fees for camp as low as possible. We do this by fundraising around 1/3 of the actual cost of camp. In previous years we offered one week of Adventure Camp at a lower cost. NEW this year, register with a deposit and then pay the remaining balance in monthly installments. We never want finances to be a barrier to kids having the life-changing experience of camp.
Why Camp Shalom?
Parents and guardians were asked in our summer camp evaluation why they chose Camp Shalom over other summer camps. Here are some of their responses.
It’s a wonderful camp that the kids loved, they learned a lot and had a great time.
My experience with the camp was staff interaction, having my questions answered and the way the kids were registered and de-registered. I was happy to see security measures put in place and the de-registration process overall. I have absolutely no complaints. Everyone was so great.
They truly were caring, loving counsellors with a strong moral faith life which was exemplary to all! What an experience!
It was close to home, and our children had such a wonderful, life changing experience last year.
Its fairly close to home and as all my children have been going there for years, its the only place they continuously ask to go back to, even with other alternatives offered. They love the staff and friends made over the years and really feel connected to God while their away at camp. It gives them a sense of belonging.
Keep doing what you’re doing! I'm so thankful and appreciative of what Camp Shalom has taught and offered my children.
It reaffirms the Christian values we are trying to teach at home. We know that he is safe and learning more about God on a daily basis. The cousellors and programs are excellent. They are modified to make sure each camper gives their best at all times.
The camp is an awesome camp! Both my children and I really enjoy what the camp provides and offers for a week! Keep up the wonderful work! May God bless all of you!
